Air Products specialise in the development and manufacturing of sharply melting polymers as thermal switching materials for application in seed coating, medical devices and personal care applications.
The temperature activated Intelimer polymers have a unique "ON/OFF" control, a temperature switch that can be tailored precisely through the modification of melting point within +/- 1°C over the 0-70°C temperature range, modification of Mw/viscosity over a very broad range while maintaining sharp melting point and incorporation of a range of functional groups for particular applications.
For personal care the properties of the Intelimer temperature switch polymers can be utilised for:

- Triggered viscosity and flow control
- Triggered permeation, fragrance release and moisture permeation control
- Triggered ease of removal or wash-off
- Triggered waterproofing and gloss control
